WHISTLER, BC January 27, 2014 – Whistler Blackcomb and its epic terrain will play host to some of the top big mountain freeskiers, ages 12-18, during the ‘GoPro Junior Freeski Challenge’ on February 8-10, 2014. This International Freeski Skiers’ Association (IFSA) sanctioned event will challenge athletes to make their way down a predetermined run on Blackcomb Mountain while being judged on skiing style, speed, and line choice.
The name of the competition run will be kept under lock and key until the day before the event on Friday, February 7, when athletes will check-in and then have the day to inspect the venue and master their line of choice. On Saturday, February 8, the qualifier round for skiers ages 12-14 will take place followed by qualifications for ages 15-18 on Sunday, February 9. After the fields have been narrowed down, qualified competitors will lay down their last runs in the finals on Monday, February 10.

Registration for the event is now full for the 15-18 year old category however there are still spaces remaining for 12-14 year olds.
