Summer Vacations in Whistler |
What to Expect
The best way to describe Whistler in summer is to use a local saying: 'You come to Whistler for the winters but you stay for the summers'. For those passionate about the mountains, Whistler is the place to be for your summer vacation.
Whistler is a four-season resort offering stunning scenery, nightlife and a multitude of activities and adventures all year long. The fun and activities don't stop when the snow melts. Summer adventures range from world-class golf courses, mountain biking and summer skiing/riding on the glacier, to hiking, rafting and fishing; you can find something different to do every day. Relaxing and pampering in one of the many spas in Whistler is a great way to wind down after a day of adventure.

Whistler's coastal location makes for moderate temperatures in the valley. Our web cams are also a great tool for keeping an eye on the live conditions. During the summer months, Whistler's temperatures reach highs averaging between 25 and 30 degrees (75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit). Check the complete weather stats for the time of year you will be visiting Whistler.

What to Wear
As in any mountain environment, weather can change quickly, so you need to be prepared for all conditions. Even in summer, the nights in Whistler are typically cool, so take a jacket with you on your evening stroll through the Village.
Bring the kids: Whistler is a family resort. Our summer programs for children offer care and mountain bike camps for children aged 18 months to 12 years. Due to the popularity our programs, booking in advance is strongly recommended to ensure you don't miss out.
Mountain Bike Park: The Whistler Mountain Bike Park operates from May through September and offers over 100km of lift-serviced gravity fed, adrenaline fueled descending trails. From gentle, banked cruisers and scenic single-track to jumps, bumps, steep rock faces, obstacles and drop offs, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Alpine Hiking and Gondola rides: You haven't been to Whistler until you've been to the top of Whistler Mountain. An easy gondola ride provides spectacular views all the way to the top and access to alpine hiking trails. Blackcomb Mountain is right next door so you'll get the whole picture of the two back-to-back mountains and the surrounding peaks and valleys.
Golf: With four championship designer golf courses right in Whistler, Whistler is Canada's Number One Golf Destination (as rated by Golf Digest).
Summer Glacier Camps: During the months of June, July and August, Whistler Blackcomb plays host to some of the best summer ski and snowboard camps in North America.
Summer activities: There's a huge selection of activities at your fingertips. Choose from spa treatments, indoor rock climbing, ice skating, ATV and four-wheel drive tours, tennis and more.
Dining, Apres and Nightlife: Things don't slow in the summer. Enjoy a cool drink after a dusty afternoon in the Bike Park on one of the many patios in the Village. The restaurants feature fresh summer menus and the summer nightlife rivals the winter.
