Canadian National BBQ Championships

The Canadian National BBQ Championships competition is the highlight of the Pacific Northwest's competitive BBQ circuit, and a draw qualifier event for the American Royal World Championships in Kansas City as well as the Jack Daniel's World Championship BBQ event in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

Friday:

6:00pm - Judging School (Class is full - All seats have been filled).
7:00pm - BBQ Whole Hog Demonstration - learn all the secrets of competition whole hog BBQ. The feast will be served up for Saturday Night's Whole Hog Feed and you must attend the demo to get advance tickets. After that, it's first come, first served!

Live Entertainment all Day and Night

Saturday:

Local's BBQ Day. A great day for anyone who has ever fired up a grill. Compete for over $4500 in cash and prizes.

Budweiser King of the Grill Contest: This contest is as wide open as your imagination and will be judged by both certified BBQ judges for a cash prize as well as a panel of judges from the public who will qualify your entry for the 'People's Choice Award'. The only restrictions are the main component of your presentation must be grilled or smoked on an outdoor grill or bbq and cooked on site. Vegetables, fish, lamb, anything goes. A great opportunity to see how your personal specialty stands up to the rest.

6th Annual Backyard Burger Championship presented by Bullseye BBQ Sauce: The contest is open to all BBQ enthusiasts and is a great place to start for new BBQ competitors. All you need are your imagination and your 'secret' ingredients. We supply gas grills, smallwares, the hamburger and a selection of buns and condiments to dress it up. Every year, our winner has their burger creation featured on The Dusty's Bar and BBQ menu. See Rules and Regulations.

CASI Sanctioned Chili Competition: This MEAT ONLY chili contest is a qualifier for the World International Chili Contest in Terlingua, Texas. See Rules and Regulations.

Canadian BBQ Championship Preparations: All of our registered BBQ contenders will be firing up their smokers on Saturday and cooking all night in order to have perfect results for Sunday's Main Event: The Canadian BBQ Championships in beef brisket, pork shoulder, pork ribs and chicken

Sunday:

The Main Event: The Canadian BBQ Championships. Cooks from all over North America will be competing for the honour of "Canadian Champion 2008" plus cash, prizes and an invitation to the World Championships in Lynchburg. A great day to come on down and see the real pros in action and maybe even sample some of the best BBQ you will ever eat.

NEW - The Ravenswood Cork & Pork Classic: This contest will test your ability to make the perfect match between BBQ pulled pork and Ravenswood’s legendary Zinfandel wine.

  • Entry fee is included if you are already registered in another category, and $35.00 if you want to compete in the Cork & Pork Classic exclusively.
  • Each team that enters will receive a complimentary bottle of Ravenswood Zinfandel wine to use as they wish.
  • A panel of professional BBQ judges and sommeliers will judge all entries. The scores will be weighted 25% on presentation and 75% flavour pairing with Ravenswood Zinfandel wine.
  • This is a winner take all event, a trip for two to the Napa Valley as well as Sonoma Valley, California for a wine tour courtesy of Ravenswood Winery. Estimated value of $ 3000.00 See Rules and Regulations.
