Dave Murray Ski Camps

Join the longest running ski camp in North America.

Dave Murray Ski Camps were started in 1982 by the former World Cup Downhiller and Crazy Canuck, Dave Murray. The camps are open for Intermediate to Expert skiers wanting to take their skiing to the next level. Passion for skiing is passed on every day by some of the best ski coaches in the country. We are committed to seeing results in your skiing whether on groomers, bumps, gates, powder or the steeps.

Dave Murray would always say "The best skiers are the ones who can ski everything."

Camp includes:

  • Three days of coaching
  • Atomic demo skis daily
  • Video analysis
  • Private hill space
  • Apres
  • T-shirt
  • Prizes

How should I judge this season? Is it the amount of snow we got or the amount of bacon we consumed? Is it the number of days we skied or just the number of powder days? Is it the number of days we worked or the number of days we got off? I'm not exactly sure how to do it, but I'm sure that numbers and amounts don't factor into my equation.
Murray Camp coaches think of themselves as invincible ski gods and goddesses whose s**t doesn't stink. And we have good reasons to think that way -
Its a Sunday, the rain is beating on the roof, NASCAR is on TSN, World Cup DH ski race is on CTV Sports Net and the smell of bacon cooking is wafting from the kitchen. This is pretty much a man's dream.
When it comes to skiing and ski conditions, I have been accused of being way too optimistic. It is to the point where they don't even bother to ask me how my day on the hill was. The answer is mostly always the same - great!
Last three weeks have been hectic, hence my tardiness with this report. We have had three camps since my last report and we also had the Peak to Valley race. Both the Ski Camps and the Peak To Valley Race are Dave Murray legacies, so it is only fitting that I write about both.
There is one thing certain – sooner or later, within a span of three days, you are going to experience every imaginable ski condition known to man. Where else but Whistler?
The last Camp was full of contrasts. Ten centimetres of fresh snow on, you guessed it, Tuesday, followed by sunshine on Wednesday.
You know the old saying, 'A picture is worth a thousand words'?
Alright, here are the straight goods. This season has been the PR Department's dream – snow, more snow, a bit of sunshine and some more snow.
What a camp! After all the storms, the clouds cracked open and the sun came out, for a couple of days, anyway.
I will keep this one short and sweet, because I'm way behind on my Christmas shopping.
The first camp of the 06-07 season is in the books and what a camp it was.
This the first of my weekly reports. Get get the straight goods on the conditions, the coaches, the happenings and the most up to date gossip.
