Calendar:
We offer 1 internship in the winter for a 3 month period and we offer 5 internships in the summer for a 3 month period:
- End of December to beginning of March or April
- Mid June to beginning of September

Applications and Interviews:
Operations internships are paid and will provide accommodation at a discounted rate for the term of the internship
We typically accept applications 2 months prior to the start date of the internship. So for example, if an internship was to start in January we would accept applications as early as November.
If you were to be selected, we would offer you an interview either in person or over the phone as we understand that you might not be in Whistler at the time of the interviews.
Internship Offer and Conditions:
If you are offered an internship you will be working full time from 30-40 hours a week.
Then Whistler Blackcomb will require the following information to hire you:
- Work Permit (if applicable)
- Social Insurance Number
- Criminal Record Check (if applicable)
- Photo Identification (Government issued, i.e., passport, driver's license, etc.)

Tube Park Attendant-Winter Internship

Job Summary:
To operate the assigned position (s) within the Tube Park safely and efficiently while providing guests of Whistler Blackcomb with courteous and friendly service. Positions include: Starter, Lift Operator, and Ticket Validator. To achieve and maintain the highest standards; requires dedication to the Team in a very challenging envi
ronment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintain a high quality, friendly and cooperative relationship with guests, the crew and other mountain staff.
- Adhere to all operational and safety procedures; ensuring safe efficient operation of the lift and park.
- At every opportunity, greet each and every guest in a friendly manner, making eye contact whenever possible.
- Provide physical assistance to guests when required.
- Strive to assist the guest before the guest asks.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining all operational aspects of the Tube Park including tubing lanes, pedestrian areas, signs.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the Tube Park including tool storage, spectator area, and park buildings.
- Generally provide a groomed, uncluttered, litter-free environment.
- Notify Supervisor/Lead Hand immediately of any unsafe, unusual, abnormal situations or incidents.
- Prepare and complete required documents.
- Inform Supervisor/Lead Hand if work areas are in need of tools, equipment or any special attention.
- Continually remain aware of the guest and their position in relation to tubing lanes, the conveyor lift, and anywhere else with the tubing park.
- Perform all tasks as assigned by the Supervisor/Lead Hand.
- Comply with all procedures and policies as set out in the Employee Handbook.
- Attend all employee meetings.
- Strive to continually improve in safety, service and job satisfaction.
- Carry out all responsibilities with the highest level of professionalism.

- Enjoy working outdoors and maintaining high service standards during inclement weather conditions.
- Proof of clear criminal record check.

Lift Host-Summer Internship
Position Status: Full Time (30-40 hours/week).These dates may vary due to seasonal business fluctuations.
Job Summary:
To operate the assigned lift safely and efficiently while providing guests of Whistler Blackcomb with courteous and friendly service. To achieve and maintain the highest standards; requires dedication to the Team in a very challenging environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintain a high quality, friendly and cooperative relationship with guests, the lift crew and other mountain staff.
- Adhere to all operational and safety procedures; ensuring safe efficient operation of the lift.
- At every opportunity, greet each and every guest in a friendly manner, making eye contact whenever possible. Strive to assist the guest before the guest asks.
- Provide physical assistance to guests when required.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining all operational aspects of the assigned lift including ramps, mazes, tools and signs.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards including tool storage, load/unload areas, lift huts.
- Generally provide a groomed, uncluttered, litter-free environment.
- Notify Supervisor/Lead Hand immediately of any unsafe, unusual, abnormal situations or incidents.
- Prepare and complete required documents.
- Inform Supervisor/Lead Hand if work areas are in need of tools, equipment or any special attention.
- Continually remain aware of the mechanical lift and the guest.
- Perform all tasks as assigned by the Lift Supervisor/Lead Hand.
- Comply with all procedures and policies as set out in the Employee Handbook.
