Coop Guide- Helpful Hints
Outlined below are the different types of Coop opportunities available at Whistler Blackcomb, including details to assist you in choosing the right one for your needs.
Whistler Blackcomb accepts all applications for coops, giving first priority to students who are Canadian, permanent residents, or eligible to work in Canada for a period of more than two years. International applicants who want to obtain a Coop, Paid or Non Paid, must have a Work VISA.
Winter Paid Coop
- Conditions: To be paid, we must already have a position available which we decide to offer as an Coop.
- Length of Coop: The applicant must be available from November, 2008 to April, 2009.
- When to apply: Between September and November.
- Accommodation: Staff accommodation is available on a first come, first serve basis to all first season staff.
Winter Non Paid Coop
- Conditions: Applications for non-paid Coops will be considered depending on availability.
- Length of Coop: Approximately 6 months, typically between November and April.
- When to apply: Between mid-October to mid-December.
- Accommodation: Due to our limitations on the winter season, you will need to secure your own accomodation.
Summer Paid Coop
- Conditions: To be paid, we must already have a position available which we offer as an Coop.
- Length of the Coop: The applicant must be available from July to September. The Coop must last at least 3 months.
- When to apply: Between March and May.
- Accommodation: Staff accommodation is available on a first come, first serve basis to all first season staff.
Summer Non Paid Coop
- Conditions: Applications for non-paid Coops will be considered depending on availability.
- Length of the Coop: Approximately 3 months, typically from June to September.
- When to apply: Between March and May
- Accommodation: Staff accommodation is available on a first come, first serve basis to all first season staff.
