WHISTLER, BC, April 16, 2013 – While the World Ski & Snowboard Festival is in full swing on the mountain, anticipation is building among dirt lovers as the  Whistler Mountain Bike Park’s opening day is fast approaching on May 17. As of today, mountain bikers can get one pedal stroke closer to riding, jumping, flowing or pumping down their favourite trail as Early Bird Triple Play Cards, Twilight Triple Play Passes and a limited number of specially priced Early Bird Season Passes go on sale.

“We are excited to offer a wide range of pass options this year to suit all types of riders,” says Brian Finestone, Whistler Mountain Bike Park Manager. “Whether you’re in the park every day or a first timer, we now have the perfect pass option for any rider of varying experience. The trails are currently covered in a layer of snow, but as of April 22 our dedicated trail crews will start to clear the snow and resurrect the park in time for opening day on May 17.” 

Early Bird Bike Park Season Pass – available for purchase April 16 to May 16

Price: Limited number of Early Bird Season Passes $549 (CDN plus tax); Regular Early Bird Season Pass $599 (CDN plus tax)

Includes:

  • Unlimited riding from May 17 to October 14

Early Bird Incentives:

  • One free Top of the World ticket. Top of The World begins at the peak of Whistler Mountain and offers riders a total of over 4,900 feet of vertical. Purchase before May 31 and receive an early season “bring-a-friend” Whistler Mountain Bike Park ticket valid until June 14.
  • Be one of the first to purchase the limited quantity $549 pass and save $50 off the Early Bird Bike Park Season Pass price of $599 (CDN plus tax).

Early Bird Triple Play Card – available for purchase April 16 to May 16

Price: $143 (CDN plus tax)

Includes:

  • Three full days in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. 

Early Bird Triple Play Card Incentives:

  • Purchase before May 16 and receive a free early season Whistler Mountain Bike Park day ticket for use until June 14.
  • Load an additional three days on to the Triple Play Card for $109 (CDN plus tax) if purchased before May 16.

Early Bird Twilight Triple Play Pass – available for purchase April 16 to May 16

Price:  $272 (CDN plus tax)

Includes:

  • Three full days in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park and unlimited riding every day after 5pm from June 15 to September 2.
  • Add a Twilight Triple Play Pass to an existing Triple Play Card until June 14 for $129 (CDN plus tax). From June 15 onwards it will cost an additional $149 (CDN plus tax).

Early Bird Twilight Triple Play Pass Incentives:

  • Purchase a Twilight Triple Play Pass before May 16 and receive free early season Whistler Mountain Bike Park day for use until June 14.

Guests who purchase a Season Pass, Twilight Triple Play Pass or a Triple Play Card are also eligible for additional season long discounts including 15 per cent off food at the Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC), 20 per cent off food at the Roundhouse Lodge, 20 per cent off retail at Garbanzo Bike & Bean, and 20 per cent off rentals at both the Garbanzo Bike and Bean and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park Demo Centre. Despite May 17 quickly approaching, skiers and riders can continue to enjoy some of the best spring skiing conditions on record in Whistler Blackcomb’s snowy alpine. Winter operations continue through to April 21 on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains and until May 27 on Blackcomb Mountain only.
