WHISTLER, BC April 5, 2013 –With incredible spring skiing conditions and almost two full months left in their winter season Whistler Blackcomb is holding a BC Residents Appreciation Day with lift ticket, lesson and rental discounts. On Sunday, April 14 Whistler Blackcomb will make it easier for BC residents to enjoy the great snow conditions by offering 50 per cent off one day lift tickets and rentals, and up to 50 per cent off select snow school programs during the World Ski and Snowboard Festival

With 1033cm (33.9 feet) of snow so far this season and 228 cm (7.5 feet) in March alone, Whistler Blackcomb is also extending their season by one week to Monday, May 27.

“We wanted to thank all BC residents for their continued support and for making this another incredible season at Whistler Blackcomb,” says Stuart Rempel Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Whistler Blackcomb. “There are still almost two months left in the season and offering 50 per cent off lift tickets to BC residents on April 14 allows them to take full advantage of our incredible spring skiing and riding.”

Discount lessons and rentals on April 14 include:

  • 50 per cent off Dicover Whistler Days rates on Max 4 group programs
  • 50 per cent off private lessons
  • 50 per cent off select Whistler Kids programs
  • 50 per cent off high performance ski and snowboard rentals

BC residents can also take advantage of some of the best lodging deals of the season. Whistler Blackcomb will be offering room rates as low as $99 (CDN) plus tax.  Whistler Blackcomb’s lodging discount prices are based on two person occupancy and will be valid from April 10-24.

After an incredible day on the slopes, BC residents can finish their day off by enjoying performances by Kim Churchill and Keller Williams at the World Ski and Snowboard Festival’s Free Outdoor Concert Series. Following the free concerts the Whistler Conference Center will host the festival’s Mountain Multiplicity Show at 8pm. The World Ski and Snowboard Festival is a 10 day and night showcase of the best of snow sports, music, arts and mountain culture. The festival features major professional ski and snowboarding competitions, the largest annual free outdoor concert series in Canada, and cultural events that match up art‐lovers with the art‐makers.
