It is too simplistic to describe Ash Grunwald as just a blues musician. While it’s true that his music is steeped in the Delta blues tradition of the legendary acoustic musicians who proliferated in pre-World War II America’s deep South and the giants of electric blues who shaped rock and roll, it’s the young Australian's’s willingness to combine these influences with grooves and sounds common in contemporary music that sets him apart. Be sure to check out this inspiring show.
Bearing an identifiably deep baritone voice, Chali 2na became the unofficial point man for West Coast underground favorite Jurassic 5. He is now a point man for Whistler having sold out his last 3 shows here. Be sure to get your ticket early and check out what is sure to be one of the best Bud Light Live shows this summer.
Elliott BROOD have always been time travellers. The Toronto trio writes folk songs steeped in history that feel very present. They've done their share of actual travelling, too, these musical troubadours, acoustic guitars and banjos slung over their sharp suits as they barnstormed across Canada and beyond. For the new album Days Into Years it was century-old stories encountered an ocean away that brought them closest to home.
