Early Summer:

May - July

Despite the warm summer days in the Whistler Valley, Whistler Blackcomb's alpine provides almost year-round opportunities for an impromptu snowball fight or snowman construction that'll bring out the kid in everyone.

Starting June:

The Mountain Top BBQ Series at the Roundhouse Lodge

Summer Skiing/Riding on the Horstman Glacier.

Mid Summer:

Late July - Early September

At the height of summer, the open-air chairlifts raise you up high over the tree line into an expanse of giant, snow-capped peaks, glaciers and ancient volcanic debris. Warmer temperatures allow more access to alpine hiking trails and walking paths.

Alpine Wildflower Season - NOW SHOWING

For a short 3 - 4 week period during this time the mountains explode into a pallet of colour with the bloom of alpine wildflowers.  Although the window is short, this spectacle is not to be missed.
Best wildflower viewing locations:

Whistler Mountain

  • High Note Trail - Round the top of the High Note trail and into the grassy meadows of the south flank of Whistler Mountain.

Blackcomb Mountain

  • Lakeside Loop Trail - The final approach to Blackcomb Lake takes hikers through a grassy meadow filled with colourful wildflowers.

Alpine Wildflowers PDF

Fall:

Early September - Early October

The alpine environment in autumn still allows for epic hikes or runs, incredible views, stunning colours and maybe even a light dusting of snow on the mountain peaks.  And this is your best chance to see wildlife, because it’s not just humans that play in these wild mountains: Black bear families, deer, grouse, marmots and pika all roam the dense forests.
