Holiday Season in Whistler

Snow swirls through the air and crunches underfoot. There is an energy and feeling of excitement as skiers and riders head to the lifts for a day on the slopes. Whistler is the place to be for the holidays. From December 17 - 30, North Pole Central offers festivities, activities and performances to delight the whole family.

BREAKFAST AT THE TOP

Sleeping in is for summer. Rise early and enjoy a Fresh Tracks breakfast at the top of Whistler Mountain before heading out for first tracks through the powder. Or fill up with delicious waffles at Crystal Hut where the cozy alpine atmosphere will put you in the mood for a day in the mountains. Whistler and Blackcomb mountains offer something for everyone, be it cruising the corduroy, flying through powder-filled glades or raising your heartbeat with the challenge of the steeps.

GUIDED TOUR

Need a little encouragement? Check out the multitude of programs offered through our Ski and Snowboard School where the talented and caring pros will have you off and running in no time. For the smaller members of the family, Whistler Kids will provide a fun-filled day of learning and adventure, with castles and tree-forts to explore.

APRÈS

No ski day would be complete without aprs. Warm up with a special hot chocolate in Dusty's or the GLC and swap tall-tales of your day. Relax by a roaring fire and turn your thoughts to the evening ahead. Dusk fills the sky, lights twinkle in the trees and shine from the windows of shops and restaurants. Stroll through the Village and find a memento of your stay in one of the many boutiques, sport shops or galleries. Have a snowball fight with your children. Build a snowman (go on, there's plenty of snow).

NIGHT TIME ADVENTURE

Have a little energy left? Experience the magic of Whistler at night. Cross-country ski under the lights around frozen Lost Lake or snowshoe through a winding forest trail. Take a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snowy woods, with only the jingle of bells to break the silence. Or feel the exhilarating rush of snowmobiling up the moonlit mountain, where a fondue feast awaits in candlelight, snug in a log cabin high above the valley.

NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

New Year's Eve is a special night. First Night Whistler counts down with an alcohol-free, family oriented celebration of the arts. Clowns and stilt-walkers, face-painting, street theatre and a host of other events provide an night of fun for all. Alternatively, duck into Merlin's, Dusty's or the Garabaldi Lift Company (GLC) for great music and tasty eats - all you need to ring in the year ahead.

Glacier-capped peaks, forests blanketed in snow, a village tucked between mountains, laughter and joy. Escape for the holiday season in the winter wonderland of Whistler.
