If you answer yes to any of the below, you're a candidate for an SST Tech Camp

  • You want to be trained and evaluated using the Primary Movement Teaching System [PMTS] maneuvers that you need to perfect in order to move on to the next level.
  • You want to undergo a complete assessment of your ski equipment
  • You recognize that you turn easier to one side than the other and realize that if you went through both a Structural Alignment and a Functional Movement Screening, you'd determine the changes needed to modify your equipment and/or your muscle limitations and neutralize your stance.
  • You suspect that your boots won't allow you to balance properly and recognize the purpose of the SAS* is to align the ski boots to neutral and give you the advantage of being structurally balanced on both feet, from where you can make precise turns.
  • You suspect that you may be inhibited by muscular issues and the purpose of the FMS** is to identify mobility limitations that you may have and provide you with a written assessment of what massage therapy and exercises you should follow to achieve normal functional movements.
  • You may already be a victim of long term overuse of one side or the other, and, as you've aged, have developed poor mobility, that's leading to unnecessary muscle fatigue, even pain and possibly to a completely preventable injury.
  • You can see the advantage of having access to the latest demo skis every day and to be skiing on skis selected by the coach as appropriate for the conditions of the day.
  • You want to learn about the latest and greatest skis out there and have them assessed to your skiing style and goals.

**The Functional Movement Screen was originally developed to gather objective data for statistical analysis of human movement patterns with respect to functional performance and injury prevention. Google "FMS" or "Dr Ryan Oughtred" for further information. The cost of the screen $100.00 is not included in your course fee and any prescribed massage therapy or assistance devices are at the campers expense.

*** Each day you will ski on demo skis selected to be appropriate for the snow conditions and your skiing goals. You may have the chance to be assessed on carvers, free ride all mountain skis and even off piste powder skis.

**** Three Cups of Tea refers to the book by Greg Mortenson, a man who continues to build schools for children and cement relationships in Pakistan/Afghanistan. "Three Cups of Tea" takes its meaning from a Balti [Kashmir i-Pakistani] proverb: "The first time you share tea with a Balti, you are a stranger. The second time you take tea, you are an honored guest. The third time you share a cup of tea, you become family." Lunch, with tea will be provided at different restaurants each day.
