Is program space limited?
Yes, book early! Availability is limited for some programs and locations and do sell out quickly.
Do lesson prices include lift access?
Yes! All listed prices for Whistler Kids Pass Programs include a full season's pass to access the mountains. All program passes include unlimited daily lift access outside of the program dates as well (for when you want to ski/ride with your child on non-program days!), and the option to purchase additional days and Adventure Camps at a special rate.
Do you offer any information on financial support?
Yes! We've gathered several options:
- 10% Family Discount Purchase one Adult/Senior Season Pass PLUS one Youth or Child Season Pass or Whistler Kids Program Pass, and receive 10% off the total. Must reside at same address and be related. $15 tot pass will only qualify for 10% off in conjunction with qualifying purchases. Available at Guest Relations or our Reservation Centre at 1.800.766.0449. Not available online.
- $199 Down Payment Option Guests who opt in for the down payment, will be required to pay a payment of $199 (+ tax) at time of purchase by May 12, 2013. Guests will need to provide a valid Credit Card and authorize that Credit Card to be charged for the remaining balance of the Season Pass product purchased, in early September 2013.
- Grants The following programs provide grants financially disadvantaged kids. Each program varies slightly; but you may receive up to a maximum of $300 per qualifying child.
Canadian Tire Jump Start, KidSport Whistler & Pemberton, Squamish & Other BC Vancouver
- Children's Fitness Tax Credit Whistler Kids Pass Programs do qualify for the Children's Fitness Tax Credit. If you need a receipt to include with your income taxes, please call the Reservation Centre at: 1.800.766.0449 and they will email you a receipt.
My child has never skied; will he/she hold the group back?
No! Our programs are grouped by age and ability with groups for beginners to expert skiers and riders.
Does my child need to be of a certain ability to join?
No! All abilities are welcome, from beginners right through to advanced and expert skiers and riders. It is recommended that beginners participate in our daily destination program prior to the first day of their Club program. The additional day rate is available as soon as you have purchased a pass and the destination programs begin.
How are the groups organized?
Groups are organized according to age and ability. Groups are team-based: similar ability/age groups are matched to create a team of children who ski/ride with a team of coaches.
Will my child have the same instructor for the entire season?
All groups are designed to have the same instructor and group for the duration of the season. However things do change throughout the season so your instructor may change due to injury, differences in the rate that the children in the class are progressing or other unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs please be understanding, we will do everything we can to make any changes run smoothly for you and your child.
Will my child be evaluated?
Yes! Evaluation and development of skills is ongoing throughout the season. Your child's instructor will give you daily updates and you will receive a mid season and end of season progress card
How will the instructor keep track of my child?
Safety is our number one priority at Whistler Kids. All our instructors are fully certified and trained in all aspects of safety and class management. flaik is included in all Whistler Kids, Ride Tribe and all private lessons. flaik is a real-time tracking solution that combines a GPS tag worn by skiers and riders that provides extra safety.
How do I see what my child has been up to each day?
Each day your child's instructor will give you feedback on what your child has learnt and where they have skied. Also flaik (see question above) allows participants to log their day to see what runs they were on, how much vertical was achieved and see where they want to ski in the future at Whistler Blackcomb. flaik tracking solution
Are the programs full or half days?
All programs are full-day for all ages.
Will my child ski/ride on both mountains?
Yes! Your child will have the opportunity to ski/ride both mountains, via the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola.
Is lunch included?
Yes! Lunch is included for children aged 3-10 years, ability 1-6. If your child has dietary requirements or you want more information about lunch options, please talk to the supervisor of your child's program. Please note, lunch is not included for the Roundhouse programs.
Does my child need their own equipment?
Yes. Children must provide their own equipment for all programs.
Where are the programs located?
Programs are offered at a variety of base meeting locations dependant on program-type. Click on the Program Links Tab above for full details on base meeting locations for each program.
Can I book my child in for additional days?
Yes! Additional days in the daily destination program are available at the special rate of $52 plus tax. Lunch is included. Please call the Reservation Center on 1.800.766.0449 to book additional days. Please go into any Snow School sales location to pick up a lesson voucher, this can be done in advance.
Are there exceptions on the minimum age requirements?
Sorry, no exceptions. Children must be the minimum program age by December 31, 2013. Valid ID is required to pick up all passes (birth certificate, passport or Care Card)
Can I cancel my child's program?
Yes! Programs can be cancelled before Dec 1, 2013 without penalty. After this date, as long as the program hasn't started, a $50 cancellation fee will apply.
Are the programs refundable?
No. Whistler Kids Programs are NOT refundable. However, there are some circumstances, such as an injury, when we might be able to issue you a credit. Please note, for any credit request, a cancellation fee of $50 will be applied, and usage rates will be charged for lessons attended and days skied. Please note refunds are not available for illness or missed days.
Can my child's pass be reused from last season?
Yes! Remember to hold on to last year's season pass! Once you renew for this winter your child can head straight to their program and avoid a trip to Guest Relations plus save on pass reprint fees.
Why do I need to provide my e-mail address and phone number?
We will use this information in case of an emergency (phone numbers) and to email you upcoming event information (parents' email addresses added to your child's profile please).
If my child misses a day can he/she join in on another day of club?
Unfortunately not. Due to hundreds of children enrolled in these programs, if a day is missed, unfortunately we are not able to reschedule your child for another day.
