What We Offer

What We Offer

Please take a look at the following guidelines to see how we can assist you in getting the story you need and what we'll need from you to process your request.

Visiting Whistler? Tell us before you arrive. The earlier you notify us of your trip, the better we are able to assist you.

What we offer

Complimentary Tickets
Complimentary lift tickets will be issued to media, photographers and/or filmmakers directly responsible for producing the project or piece subject to the discretion of the PR Department. If you are a freelancer, please be prepared to provide a letter of assignment or contact information for the publication you are writing for

On-Mountain Assistance
Moving around on Whistler Blackcomb is best accomplished on skis or a snowboard. We request that large crews and non-skiers or snowboarders requiring daylong transport get in touch with our office well in advance as other arrangements will have to be organized. Please note that for safety reasons, filming while in motion on a snowmobile is not permitted on either Whistler or Blackcomb Mountain.

Accommodation
Whistler Blackcomb does not own or operate nightly lodging. We recommend you contact the Tourism Whistler Media Relations Department. Please review their Media Visit section for further information.

Press Releases and Assistance with Requests for Information
To receive news releases via email, please email us at publicrelations@intrawest.com. The whistlerblackcomb.com website is also a great source of mountain information.

Photos and B-Roll
Limited use of our photo library is available for editorial purposes. Photos of ski and snowboard action, lifestyle, events and activities can be found in the online Photo Gallery in the Media Room. Please select the image you require and email us the file name. We will then send you a high resolution version. B-roll is also available by special request.

Commercial Filming
Whistler Blackcomb hosts dozens of film and photography crews each year. More information.

Please send us your work
The PR team would appreciate a copy of any resulting stories or films for our media archives.

The Team

Ryan Proctor
Public Relations
Coordinator
Responsible for ski and snowboard media inquiries, Commercial Filming, filmmakers, photographers and the Pro Athlete and Legends Teams.

Ryan hails from Barrie, Ontario Canada and weighs in at a lean 175 lbs. This industry heavy weight is part of the most professional team of PR experts known to man. As a collage graduate and after spending time as a Managing Partner of his own business, Proctor headed out west to find his true path in life. After four years working for Whistler Blackcomb in F&B on the front line as supervisor, Proctor was offered his dream job as PR coordinator with WB.

His vast knowledge of the mountains and what they have to offer, besides more than 8,000 incredible, skiable acres, as well as his understanding of the ski and snowboard industry, has made him a key contact in Whistler Blackcomb's Public Relations department.

Amber Turnau
Public Relations Coordinator
Responsible for destinations media inquiries

Amber joined the Whistler Blackcomb PR team in April 2007 to work with destination and travel media. She draws from her journalism background, having graduated from the Langara College Journalism Program in Vancouver, Canada, and freelanced for various publications.

She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Australia, Central America, Africa and Thailand, but is proud to call beautiful British Columbia her home. Her passion for the outdoors has brought her to Whistler, where she's found life's perfect balance: snowboarding during the winter and riding her bike during the summer.

Tabetha Boot
Regional Public Relations Supervisor
Responsible for Canadian and Washington State media enquiries.
Tabetha grew up in Oakville Ontario and, like most other Ontario transplants, it didn't take her long to develop the "quest for the west."

Moving out in the fall of 2005, Tabetha hasn't looked back. After one season as a supervisor in a retail rental store at Whistler Blackcomb, Tabetha moved into her current role as public relations and communications supervisor. Canadian, Washington State and any weather or snow curious media inquiry can come her way. Enjoy the powder!

Michelle Leroux
Interim Public Relations and Communications Manager

Michelle has always been a mountain girl. Growing up in the Crowsnest Pass, AB allowed her to develop a passion for snow sports early and eventually lead to a job in high school as a ski instructor at Fernie Alpine Resort, BC.

Fast forward 16 years and you'll find Michelle at the helm of Whistler Blackcomb's Public Relations & Communications Department as Interim Manager for Christina Moore. Michelle has worked for Intrawest for the past five years, working first for Panorama Mountain Village before moving to the centre of the snow universe (Whistler!) three years ago. Christina will return as manager from her maternity leave at the end of March 2008.
