Whistler Mountain Celebrates 40 Years in Retro Style

Free Lift Ticket and Line By Pass on Opening Day
for First 40 People Dressed in Retro Gear

WHISTLER, BC, November 15, 2005 – Whistler Mountain will open for its 40th year of operation on Thursday November 24 and to celebrate, the first 40 people dressed in retro gear will be given a free pass for the day and will be the first people up the Creekside gondola – the original base of Whistler Mountain when it opened in 1966.

"The 40th anniversary of Whistler is a truly exciting milestone." says Stuart Rempel, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "This season will be filled with anniversary events that will no doubt take us down memory lane and this event is just the beginning."

To qualify, skiers and riders must arrive dressed in their very best retro gear. The outfit must include retro pants and jacket and two more 'retro items' - a hat, mitts, ear warmers, etc. Meeting time for all retro dressed contenders is 7:45am sharp lining up outside on the patio of Dusty's Bar and Grill at the Creekside base of Whistler Mountain. Whistler Blackcomb's Snow Guru Crew will be on hand to judge the outfits and identify the first 40 people who meet the retro gear requirements.  Free lift tickets will be distributed at this time and winners will be escorted to the front of the line to upload.

No registration is necessary for this event. Season passholders will receive a one-day lift ticket valid for any day before January 31, 2006. For more detailed information please visit us at www.whistlerblackcomb.com.
