WHISTLER, BC, May 3, 2006 – In celebration of an epic snow year and incredible spring conditions, Whistler Blackcomb is dropping its prices to say thanks for a great season. $29 lift tickets for Edge Card holders and pass/card holder friends and family, $10 sightsee tickets and 50% off food at the Roundhouse Lodge are some of the great discounts available May 6 through June 4. With a snow base of over 260 centimetres (106 inches) and over 80 runs to choose from on Whistler Mountain, spring doesn't get any better than this.  

 

“The conditions on the mountain are incredible right now and these cold nights are ensuring that the snow in the alpine is staying cold and fresh,” says Greg Jarratt, Whistler Mountain’s grooming manager. “I would recommend that guests stay high in the alpine in the mornings until the snow has chance to soften up. Later in the morning and through the afternoon, guests can enjoy soft, spring-like conditions all the way down to the bottom of Big Red or Olympic Station. These are the best spring conditions we have ever experienced on these lower parts of the mountain.”

 

For guests in town without gear, specially-priced rental equipment is available from $19.99 per set. Clothing is also available to rent.

 

Season pass holders and Edge Card holders can bring their friends and family skiing with them for just $29 (youth and seniors rate is $23 and a child rate is $15). Edge Card holders will also receive a special direct-to-lift price of $29, and $10 sightsee tickets are available. Finally, to complete a perfect spring day on the mountain, the Roundhouse Lodge is offering 50% off food throughout the day starting Saturday, May 6.
