A Canada-wide search for Kokanee Crankworx’s event photographer has been unleashed with "Capture" - the Kokanee Crankworx Photographer Challenge." Submissions are now being taken for the challenge and the winner will be awarded a $2,000 Kokanee Crankworx photography contract plus a week’s stay at the new Adara Hotel, a designer boutique hotel, during the festival.

The third annual Kokanee Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival, one of the world’s largest freeriding events, has announced an open format competition in their signature event - the Boneyard Slopestyle Expression Session. All athletes will be required to qualify on Thursday, July 27 in order to compete in the finals on Saturday, July 29.

The resort has now won two Golden Eagles, six Silver Eagles, and numerous finalist spots since the Golden Eagle Awards for Environmental Excellence were established in 1993.

Whistler Blackcomb has broken ground on the construction of the Piccolo Express, the resort's newest high speed detachable quad that was announced last month. The new Piccolo Express Lift on Whistler Mountain will be open for the beginning of the 2006/2007 season.

Whistler Blackcomb has announced that it will host a Mother’s Day fundraising drive Sunday May 14, 2006. All adult lift tickets on Mother’s Day will be priced at $29 with $20 from every adult ticket sold donated to the BC Cancer Foundation in support of Breast Cancer Research.
