Dress like Santa - ski for free!

DRESS LIKE SANTA OR MRS. CLAUS AND SKI OR RIDE FOR FREE AT WHISTLER BLACKCOMB SATURDAY, DECEMBER 23

WHISTLER, B.C. December 12, 2006 – Holiday spirit soars as Whistler Blackcomb's annual 'Santa Day' kicks off Saturday, December 23. A free lift ticket will be awarded to the first 100 people to arrive at the base of Whistler Mountain in full Santa or Mrs. Claus attire, plus each participant will have the chance to win a new pair of skis or a snowboard.

To qualify, skiers and snowboarders must arrive dressed in their very best Santa or Mrs. Claus costume, which must include red or black pants or a skirt for Mrs. Claus, a red jacket with white trim, a black belt, a beard for Santa and of course, a Santa or Mrs. Claus hat. The meeting time for all Santa and Mrs. Claus participants is 8:30am on the patio of the Garibaldi Lift Company at the base of Whistler Mountain. One free lift ticket per person will be awarded to the first 100 people who meet full costume requirements.

"Santa Claus spreads happiness and good tidings throughout the holidays, and Whistler Blackcomb wants to pay tribute to that and help to spread even more good cheer," says Christina Moore, manager of public relations and communications at Whistler Blackcomb. "This is a great way to kick off the festive season and get everyone into the holiday spirit."

The day will begin for all Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus' with a run down Whistler Mountain where a draw for a new pair of skis or snowboard, of up to $800 in value, will take place. After the contest each Santa and Mrs. Claus will have the rest of the day to ski or ride on Whistler or Blackcomb Mountains.
