Whistler Blackcomb Announces Local's Photo Contest

2007/08 Season Pass up for Grabs for Lucky Photo Submission Draw Winner

Whistler Blackcomb has announced a 2007/08 season pass up for grabs for lucky local who submits a photo that captures what it is about these mountains that inspires them.

"Each year we create a media kit that is given to over 1,500 A-list media contacts to get them excited about the upcoming season and remind them of how phenomenal this place is," says Michelle Leroux, public relations and communications manager at Whistler Blackcomb. "This year we want to focus on where Whistler Blackcomb gets it's inspiration: the mountains and the people that call these mountains home. With the community so integral to what makes this place such a magnificent place, we wanted to engage locals and find out what memories and moments in the mountains resonate with them."

Professional photographers will capture Whistler Blackcomb's 'big mountain' scenic beauty while the selected amateur photos will speak to the more personal, fun and quirky elements that make these mountains so captivating.

From all entries, one name will be drawn to win a 2007/08 winter season pass.  Photos that are selected to be a part of the 2007/08 Whistler Blackcomb Media Kit will receive a Whistler Blackcomb summer prize pack including: tickets for the Peak Adventure and Mountain Top BBQ as well as swag including a Dakine hydration back pack. Photo credits will also be given in the media kit.

People looking to participate should submit a winter themed photo with a caption that explains in a couple sentences what the photo means to them. Photos should have 300dpi or high enough resolution to print a 5x7 sized photo.  Submissions can be e-mailed to publicrelations@intrawest.com, with the subject line Mountains of Inspiration. Contest deadline is Friday, July 13, 2007. The draw winner and selected media kit photos will be announced Thursday, July 26, 2007.
