Whistler Blackcomb Mountain's are gearing up for 30cm of snow the first weekend of March. After a window of sunshine, while TELUS presents the Whistler World Cup, snow is returning in full force.
"We didn't have a whole lot of snow in February; only 95cm compared to the average 155cm, but that meant excellent race conditions for racers," say's Alex Hearn, the voice of Whistler Blackcomb's snowphone. "Now that the races are done, Mother Nature seems to be gearing up to give the powder hungry skier and riders the stuff they've been waiting for."
21cm fell on Whistler Blackcomb in the last 24 hours and 4cm more are forecasted for today. So far this winter, Whistler Blackcomb has received 802cm and typically receives 733cm by March 1. Whistler Blackcomb is on track to surpass the annual average snowfall of 33.5 feet for the third year in a row.
