Racing is scheduled to take place from Feb. 21st to 24th in Whistler, BC, bringing a record breaking season for ski races in Canada to a close.
“The course crew and volunteers have worked extremely hard to prepare the courses here in Whistler for the world’s best ski racers. As a result of their effort the track is very good condition and it’s ‘game on’,” said Alpine Canada Alpin Director of World Cup Events John Cassels.
The ladies get downhill training underway February 19th with the men kicking off races with the TELUS Whistler Super G on Feb. 21st. The Men’s TELUS Whistler Giant Slalom takes place on Feb. 23rd while the Ladies will be on course on Feb. 22nd for the TELUS Whistler Downhill and Feb. 24th in the TELUS Whistler Super Combined presented by UPS.
Watch for World Cup champions Britt Janyk (Whistler, BC) John Kucera (Calgary, AB), Emily Brydon (Fernie, BC) and Erik Guay (Mont-Tremblant, QC) who will lead a team of 15 Canadian alpine ski racers.
Grammy-nominated hip hop artist k-os and Juno-nominated rockers Hedley highlight a stellar weekend of entertainment capped on Feb. 22nd by the TELUS VIP World Cup Ski Party at the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre.
