Park Report
by Brian Finestone Apr 4, 2012

April eh? Could have fooled me, as we (once again) spent the day digging out from another 50cm blanket of snow! March saw over 4m of snow fall at Whistler Blackcomb and April appears to be trying to trump that only a few days into the month. The good news is that we have tons of snow to work with for the TWSSF to build courses for the WSI and TTR events. It also means we will have plenty to keep us going through May with legit full size parks until the newly announced extended season ends on the 28th!
It's crazy how fast this season went, and when we find out whether we got the X-Games in few weeks, it could accelerate things even faster if the answer is yes!
We have pulled a few things with this storm cycle so expect all new Park designs on Chipmunk and Choker once we get on top of it. The HL is being transformed for the Slopestyle events but remains open until training starts mid-April. Both the mini and Global Pipes have had rebuilds so if U-Ditch makes you smile come check them out after the storm.
Stay tuned for more spring plans and be sure to check the TWSSF site for scheduled events on Blackcomb. Time to go pull some fences and ride some more worker-pow. Peace, B-ri.
PS- Special thanks to the Park Diggers and Cat Drivers for all of their hard work in March keeping one step ahead of the storms. Maybe it's time Ulaar moved along and let us have some sunny Spring days in the Park- just saying…
