Mother Nature Delivers
Hey Park Riders,
Some great pow riding over the last with almost 90 cm's in the last 7 days. This has also given Marty, Dave and their teams of park builders lots of good building material so the parks continue to grow. We are expecting lots more snow over the weekend and have the Blackcomb Park loaded up with snow guns so we will be ready when we have good snow making temps.
On Blackcomb the Highest Level is now open so come with your HL pass and helmet. You can get these at guest relations, and they are $25 for the season. There is one XL jump now on Shack left with more to come. There are also large jumps and rails on the right line.
- The Choker side has the Jay jump line on the right side.
- The Pipe has been riding great and getting love nightly From Andy Morrison and Steve Pitt our pipe shapers.
- As promised the Big Easy terrain garden is now in operation for our new park riders.
- The Snowcross track is loaded up with guns and will be coming soon.
On Whistler there is a good selection of of jumps and rails in the Habitat Park. Look for new jumps on Chipmunk as well as the new Finestone cable spool jib. With this next snowfall the new entrance will come into play as well as Dave and Anto's new grom line.
Park Events
- Saturday Jan. 10 the 2nd King of the Rail rider judged jam with lots of great prizes for our friends at Showcase and Glacier Shop. Registration is between 5 and 6 at Whistler Kids and the base of Blackcomb. Look for some new combos with the Northern Rails.
- Sunday Jan. 11 the first Park Rider Session Slopestyle presented by TELUS. This will be on the right line in the Highest level park. The course will be built for Saturday so you can wire your run before the comp.
- Stay tuned on the Atomic Supercross Jan.17, 18. We'll see how we go with the snowmaking.
Tip of the week Play in the park. The back country is very unstable right now, if you are thinking about going out side the area boundary check with your local patrol first.
Happy shredding.
