Advanced Backcountry Enthusiast

You are comfortable and competent using your probe and transceiver. Always enter the backcountry with a backpack and avalanche equipment. You have your AST Level 1 or greater.  You check hazard bulletins and are aware of daily snow and weather conditions.

Intermediate Backcountry Recreationalist

You own all of your own equipment, including skins or split board, transceiver, probe and shovel. Your goal for this season is to use it more. You are signed up or ready to take your AST Level 1 and you want to venture out into some bigger.
