Whistler Blackcomb’s Winemaker Après series puts a twist on the alpine dining experience. Take a ride from the Whistler village to a quiet mountain top get away known as Steeps Grill. Located inside the Roundhouse Lodge, Steeps Grill provides an upscale dining atmosphere with a scenic view of the mountains. The event features a five course meal prepared with locally sources ingredients by Whistler Blackcomb’s executive chefs and each dish is paired with a feature wine from British Columbia.

Respecting the environment is very important to me which is why I use every moment possible as a leader in this company to instill environmental stewardship in our employees. Building relationships with local suppliers and producers in Pemberton, Vancouver, and the Fraser Valley is key to the success of our restaurants. We have also embraced the Ocean Wise program run by the Vancouver Aquarium and are committed to supporting their initiatives towards sustainability.
Over the past couple of winters at Whistler Blackcomb we have refined our dietary options and developed a program to highlight vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and sodium reduced menu options for our guests. My goal is to get away from the “ski hill food mentality” and move to a fresher and healthier menu selection. We want to provide fresh and healthy dishes to fuel our many guests during their amazing days on the mountain.
Whistler Blackcomb's Food and Beverage department has updated some of its mouth-watering menu items and is undertaking new sustainability initiatives. Pemberton's Across The Creek Organics, is growing approximately 25,000 Russet potatoes exclusively for Whistler Blackcomb's baked potato stations at Glacier Creek and the Roundhouse Lodge. Steeps and Christine's will be using their Yukon Gold varieties.
Meanwhile, the Food and Beverage department is also working with Coca-Cola to grow its existing recycling program and to encompass other areas of waste reduction, including growing its organic waste disposal program. Currently, Whistler Blackcomb's restaurants recycle 80 per cent of their beverage containers.
