The Canadian National BBQ Championships competition is the highlight of the Pacific Northwest's competitive BBQ circuit, and a draw qualifier event for the American Royal World Championships in Kansas City as well as the Jack Daniel's World Championship BBQ event in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

Friday:

7:00pm: BBQ Whole Hog Demonstration - learn all the secrets of competition whole hog BBQ. The feast will be served up for Saturday Night's Whole Hog Feed and you must attend the demo to get advance tickets. After that, it's first come, first served!

Saturday:
Local's BBQ Day. A great day for anyone who has ever fired up a grill. Compete for over $2000 in cash and prizes.
- 'King of the Grill' Anything Goes Grilling Contest: This contest is as wide open as your imagination and will be judged by both certified BBQ judges for a cash prize as well as a panel of judges from the public who will qualify your entry for the 'People's Choice Award'. The only restrictions are the main component of your presentation must be grilled or smoked on an outdoor grill or bbq and cooked on site. Vegetables, fish, lamb, anything goes. A great opportunity to see how your personal specialty stands up to the rest. See Rules and Regulations.
- 6th Annual Backyard Burger Championship: The contest is open to all BBQ enthusiasts and is a great place to start for new BBQ competitors. All you need are your imagination and your 'secret' ingredients. We supply gas grills, smallwares, the hamburger and a selection of buns and condiments to dress it up. Every year, our winner has their burger creation featured on The Dusty's Bar and BBQ menu. See Rules and Regulations.
- CASI Sanctioned Chili Competition: This MEAT ONLY chili contest is a qualifier for the World International Chili Contest in Terlingua, Texas. See Rules and Regulations.
- Cocktail Contest: Fancy yourself a bartender? Here's your chance! Saturday afternoon between 1:00-3:00pm, the Grand Marnier team and Rock 101 will be in their "drinking booth", ready to taste your masterpiece. You have all morning to mix and a two hour window to bring the team your creation. Whistler's best will compete for cash and prizes to build the best GM cocktail ever. Come down and build your own cocktail, or just hang out and enjoy the fun. You could win a $250 Grand Prize and other great prizes.
How to enter: Sign up at the Grand Marnier booth, pick your choice of glassware and ingredients and recipe list (or bring your own if you like).
What you will need: A creative mind and any special ingredients that make your cocktail unique.
What we provide: 250ml of GM, glassware and basic juices, soda and garnish. A recipe sheet ( you must turn in your recipe as the team wants to add it to our drink list.
- Canadian BBQ Championship Preparations: All of our registered BBQ contenders will be firing up their smokers on Saturday and cooking all night in order to have perfect results for Sunday's Main Event: The Canadian BBQ Championships in beef brisket, pork shoulder, pork ribs and chicken

- The Main Event: The Canadian BBA Championships. Cooks from all over North America will be competing for the honour of "Canadian Champion 2006" plus cash, prizes and an invitation to the World Championships in Lynchburg. A great day to come on down and see the real pros in action and maybe even sample some of the best BBQ you will ever eat.
