Pangea Day
4 hours. 24 films. A new way to see the world

In 2006, filmmaker Jehane Noujaim won the TED Prize, an annual award granted at the TED Conference. She was granted $100,000, and a wish to change the world. Her wish was to create a day in which the world came together through film. Pangea Day is the result of that wish.

On May 10, 2008, locations in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, and Rio de Janeiro will be linked for a live program of 24 powerful films, live music and visionary speakers. The event will be broadcast in seven languages to millions of people worldwide through the internet, television and mobile phones.

Joel Kroeker & Clumsy Lovers
Performance at Millennium Place

With the lyrical weight of Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits, coupled with the sonic landscape of Elvis Costello and Coldplay, some have likened Kroeker's reckless precision to John Mayer after years in Alcatraz. His range of pop, jazz, folk and rock cross paths with the sounds of the Clumsy Lovers as they share the stage. The Clumsy Lovers embody the whimsical pop of The Barenaked Ladies, the raucous rootsiness of Great Big Sea, the alt-country of Blue Rodeo and the traditionalism of The Duhks, but set against the backdrop of the Vancouver skyline.
Tickets: $22/$19 available at www.ticketmaster.ca or Millennium Place.
