Both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains offer a range of fantastic activities for the whole family. For those who are looking for a thrill, try the Via Ferrata, try Rap Jumping, take a helicopter tour or go for an alpine ride on an ATV. Glacier Walks and Hikes offer a chance to learn about the mountain environment while taking in the awesome views. Escape the summer heat and busy village and go up top for a true mountain experience.

Via Ferrata

A moderate and exhilarating tour combining glacier hiking with mountain climbing. Negotiate your way across Whistler glacier using crampons and an ice axe to the base of the Via Ferrata route. 'Via Ferrata' is Italian for 'Iron Way' and is an engineered vertical pathway with permanently fixed cables for protection and metal ladder rungs to ease your movement over the rock. This tour is suitable for ages 14 and up. No climbing experience is necessary. 4 hours round trip.

Glacier Walk

Outfitted with boots, crampons and an ice axe you will learn how to walk using glacier equipment and take a tour around Whistler Glacier. Along the way, you will learn about the formation of glaciers and crevasses and have a chance to play on the ice and snow. This tour is great for people of all ages, abilities, families with children 8 years and up. No experience is necessary. 2.5 hours round trip.

Glacier Hike

One of our most popular tours! Outfitted with boots, crampons, ice axe, harness and rope, your guide will lead you onto the glacier snow and ice atop Whistler Mountain. You will be educated on glaciology and use of equipment in order to ascend the glacier like a mountaineer. Once at the top, enjoy stunning alpine vistas before descending. No experience necessary. This tour is suitable for people of most ages and abilities, families with children 12 years and up. 3.5 hours round trip.

Rap Jumping

Experience the rush of rap jumping off the top of Whistler Peak, 5000 ft above the valley floor. Rap jumping is face forward rappelling whereby you lower yourself over a dramatic rock face - guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping! For those less inclined to face their fear, traditional rappelling is offered. No climbing or rappelling experience necessary. 15-20 mins per rap.

Scrambling

Scramble your way up to the top of Whistler Mountain on the newly developed scrambling route. Scrambling combines the use of hand and foot holds on section of the trail, yet is less technical than rock climbing. Once you reach the top, join us for a Rap Jump or take the next step and climb the Via Ferrata. No experience necessary. 2 hours.

Helicopter Tours

Blackcomb Helicopters gives you a bird's eye view of Whistler Resort, Blackcomb and Whistler Mountains and the best of Garabaldi Park. The view encompasses the coastal range as far as the eye can see, including glacial flows, peaks, rivers and glacier fed lakes. Heli picnic and hiking tours are also available.

ATV Tours

An ATV is a great way to explore the Whistler backcountry. No experience is necessary - 45 minute tours are available for all abilities. Enjoy spectacular views of the valley and mountains with plenty of stops for photo opportunities.

Free Hiking Tours

Hiking at Whistler Blackcomb's is even better when experienced with a true Whistler local. Enjoy a complimentary guided tour while navigating Whistler Mountain's vast alpine environment. Tours depart daily @ 11:30am from the top of the Whistler Village Gondola. Tours are a two-hour round trip with rest stops and photo opportunities.

Rock Tour - Rock Climbing

This very popular half-day tour is designed for individuals or groups looking for a fun filled morning or afternoon of single pitch, top roped climbing. Our experiences guides will set everything up and provide helpful hints along the way. No climbing experience is necessary. 4 hour round trip.

Blackcomb Peak Ascent - Rock Climbing

Join your guide for an exciting adventure to the top of Blackcomb Mountain via the classic Blackcomb Buttress route. The approach is made easy by using the ski lifts and a hike to the base of the route. The Buttress provides a mix of scrambling, and low fifth class roped climbing with short cruxes on beautifully featured rock and generous ledges for belays. Exposure increases as the Buttress narrows the higher your climb. You do not need to be an experienced rock climber or mountaineer to tackle this climb. 8 hours (round trip).

Wilderness Tours - Hiking

Get a glimpse of the spectacular wilderness the Whistler region has to offer on one of our hald0day interpretive hikes. We will guide you through easy to moderate terrain boasting magnificent views of the local mountains, alpine lakes and rugged glaciers. 3-4 hours (round trip).

Backcountry Tour - Hiking

These hikes start in the valley and can gain up to 1000 metres of elevation, leading you to pristine alpine lakes and through meadows surrounded by snow-covered peaks ad glaciers. There will be several awesome viewing points along the way for photos and a well-deserved rest! With over half a dozen spectacular hikes to choose from you won't be disappointed. 6-8 hours (round trip)

Musical Bumps Tour - Hiking

Experience the wild side of Whistler Mountain on this classic hike â€" a must do! Ride the gondolas to the high alpine and venture outside the ski area boundary along Piccolo, Flue and Oboe summits where a 360-degree panorama of glaciated mountains will consume you. Observe wild alpine meadow flora and if you are lucky resident fauna such as a marmot or bear! 6-8 hours (roundtrip).

A minimum cancellation fee of $25+GST applies. Cancellations received within 24 hours of booked tour and no shows will be charged full tour price.
