Top 5 Free

Top 5 Free Activities

Who says having a bundle of fun means spending a bundle of cash? Whistler is filled with fun, fabulous things to do that won't cost you a cent, and here are the Top 5.

Ice Skating at Olympic Plaza - Photo Credit: Mike Crane

ICE SKATING
Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, the twinkle of festive lights and the Olympic rings, Whistler's brand new outdoor skating rink has opened up to rave reviews and is the perfect evening activity. Skating is free and skate rentals are $5 (available 11-2 and 6-9). Warm up tip: There is a Blenz and Starbucks just down the village stroll, if you like tea try David's Tea right across from the rink. For an adult drink, the Brewhouse Pub is right next door. More Information

Fire and Ice Show

FIRE & ICE SHOW
Presented by the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival. Where else but in Whistler could you have performers entertain you with an electric mix of music, dance and spinning fire? Watch world-class athletes flipping and twisting through a burning ring of fire and finish with a first class fireworks display. The Fire and Ice Show is performed by top members of Whistler Blackcomb's Ski & Snowboard School. More Information

Freestyle Tobogganing

FREESTYLE TOBOGGANING
Pick up a cheap flying saucer or crazy carpet from the Whistler Village Hardware store (right across from Araxi) and head down to Myrtle Philip or Spring Creek schools for some downhill exhilaration. There is also a small mound set up near the Whistler Olympic Plaza skating rink that could make for a second or two of tobogganing good times. Please note there is no tobogganing on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.

VILLAGE STROLL
The Village is the real heart of the resort, a pedestrian-only area brimming with award winning restaurants, brand name and boutique shopping, pubs, patios, art galleries and more. You'll be amazed how enjoyable a day spent ambling along its snow covered streets can be. Whistler Village is big enough to have all the amenities of a world-class resort, yet small enough for you to feel its warmth and distinctive hospitality.

Whistler Youth Centre

WHISTLER YOUTH CENTRE
The Youth Centre (YC) offers a variety of programs, services and activities to suit all interests (kids aged 13-18). Whether you're looking for a casual environment to meet up with friends, a spot to try out your latest skate board tricks, or a place to challenge your friends to a game of pool or foosball, the YC is the place for you! If gaming is more your thing, the YC is your gateway to PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, widescreen TV, and free Internet access. For the foodies out there, the YC also has its own concession stand, and offers ice cream and free baked goods from a local eatery. More Information
