High School Initiatives
Peak Experience Program
The Peak Experience Program is an opportunity tailored for our local High School Students in the Sea-to-Sky region that are between the age of 15 and 17. The program allows students to gain experience and exposure into entry level employment as they work in some of our key departments!
The Peak Experience Program is a paid program that requires 10 shifts or 100 hours over Whistler Blackcomb's peak holiday periods. Program Perks for students that work 10 or more shifts include a Student Seasons Pass, Retail/Rental discounts, Food & Beverage discounts, and eligibility for the Whistler Blackcomb Scholarship Program. Program Perks for students that work 100 or more hours include a Student Seasons Pass, Retail/Rental discounts, Food & Beverage discounts, eligibility for the Whistler Blackcomb Scholarship Program and one Course Credit.

Food & Beverage
You're a real people person and can strike up a conversation anytime, anywhere. Smiling comes naturally and you thrive in a fast-paced environment. You love living in the mountains and are passionate about the outdoors. We want you to be a part of our energetic Food and Beverage team.
You love the goods. You get excited about the latest and greatest quality products. Your friends often refer to you as the ‘know it all'- don't worry, we dig it. You don't mind being indoors, as long as you get to play outside on your days off. You are ambitious, passionate and sociable- If this sounds like you then rentals is where you should be!
You thrive being outdoors. You love the mountains. You enjoy your free time and will work hard to have lots of it. You are adventure-seeking, ambitious and passionate. You have a desire to see how things run on a big scale, in order for our mountains to operate as smooth as they do. You work with a safety-first mind set and a smile on your face. Sounds like you belong on our ops team.
Snow School (Not Available for the 2016/2017 Season)
(Only available with the completion of CSIA Level 1) You are the mountains biggest enthusiasts! You are adventure-seeking, patient, and passionate. You are happy to share your love for the mountain with others and have a natural gift for teaching. Not to mention that you are psyched that your job entails playing on some of North America's best ski terrain.
Applications for the Peak Experience Program can be submitted through your High School Career Counsellor in the Fall. Those selected will be offered an interview in-person in Whistler.
Snow School Mentorship
Whistler Blackcomb's Snow School Mentorship is a unique experience tailed for the students that love to ski or ride! If you are a mountain enthusiast that has a passion for teaching this program could be for you. This mentorship provides a special view into Whistler Blackcomb's Snow School program and demonstrates to students what it's like to teach beginners on WB's outdoor playground! We look for applicants who are happy to share their love for the mountains, display patience, and are comfortable skiing or snowboarding.
This Mentorship runs from January to April and requires 12 shadow days with one of our Snow School Instructors. Please note this program is only offered to High School Student between the ages of 15 and 17 in the Sea-to-Sky region. This program is unpaid but the Perks include a Student Seasons Pass, Retail/Rental discounts and Food & Beverage discounts. Applications for the Snow School Mentorship open online in early December under the Current Postings Tab on our website. Those selected will be offered an interview either in-person in Whistler or over the phone.
Bike Park Mentorship
Whistler Blackcomb's Bike Park Mentorship is a program designed for those mountain bike enthusiasts out there. We are looking for students that thrive being outdoors, love the mountains, and are psyched to play on Whistler's endless network of trails. If you have a passion for teaching, are a wiz with kids, and have an appetite for biking this could be the program for you. Students will be paired up with a Bike Park Instructor and will gain exposure into what it's like to teach beginner-intermediate kids on WB's outdoor playground!
This Mentorship runs from May to September and requires 6 shadow days with one of our Bike Park Instructors. Please note this program is only offered to High School Student between the ages of 15 and 17 in the Sea-to-Sky region. This program is unpaid but the Perks include a Seasons Bike Park Pass, Retail/Rental discounts and Food & Beverage discounts.
Applicants must be able to show competent biking skills on a minimum of Blue Trails in the Whistler Blackcomb Bike Park. With the completion of 6 shadow days, students will be given the option of taking the IDP Level 1 biking certification course which is required for future employment as a Bike Park Instructor. If students are successful in the Mentorship Program and the IDP Level 1 course they become eligible to be hired as a staff member for the following summer season.

Post-Secondary & Post- Secondary Graduate Initiatives
The Whistler Blackcomb Internship Program is designed for Post-Secondary Students or Recent Post-Secondary Graduates that have a passion for the outdoors and the resort industry! Indulge your passion for big mountain adventure and learn a little something at that same time! These Internships are only offered to Students or Recent Grads of recognized Canadian Post- Secondary Institutions.
Whistler Blackcomb Internships are full time (30-40 hours per week) and run in either a three, four, or six month period. All Internships are paid and allow eligibility for WB's staff housing dependent on availability. Program Perks include a Student Seasons Pass, Retail/Rental discounts and Food & Beverage discounts.

Sales and Marketing
About Sales & Marketing: The Whistler Blackcomb Sales and Marketing team knows exactly what our mountains have to offer because they live and breathe mountain culture. These guys & girls will not be shy to tell you what the goods are on and off the resort. With positions from Strategic Alliance & Partnership Marketing to Brand & Content Management the WB Marketing team holds a well-rounded experience for any student with a desire to pursue the marketing and sales field!
About You: You have a go- getter attitude and are excited to get to combined your schooling with all that Whistler Blackcomb has to offer. You are up-to-date on all the latest and greatest social media platforms and can post an Instagram with your eyes closed. You have an eye for detail and an appreciation for sales. You feel confident in taking on tasks and project but still work well with supervisors and team-members.
Internship Availability: Sales and Marketing offers three- 4 month Internships per year, starting in September, January, and May. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in Marketing or Social Media. Applications for the Sales and Marketing Internship will open on our website's Current Opportunities page approximately 3 months before the position start date.
About Public Relations: The Whistler Blackcomb Public Relation's team is full of communication pros. These guys & girls could write a press release in their sleep. When it comes to being the voice of Whistler Blackcomb's philosophy they are the best people for the job because they live it on the daily. Whether is tweeting about current conditions or hyping up internationally renowned events like Crankworx, PR is all over it.
About You: You have serious communications skills, whether it's sending an email or giving a presentation you have a way with words. You can tweet better than you can tie your own shoes, social media is second nature to you. You feel more than comfortable in Microsoft Office, and can throw together a better than good press release! You take direction well but can also get in the zone and take on tasks if requested. You are over the moon about mixing your PR skills with all that North America's #1 Ski Resort has to offer.
Internship Availability: Public Relations offers one- 3 month Internship and one- 4 month Internship, starting in January and May (The May Internship works solely on PR for Crankworx). Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post-Secondary program in Communications or Public Relations. Employee Experience (Human Resources)
About Employee Experience: Putting a new spin on "Human Resources", the Employee Experience team is sort of like the heart of Whistler Blackcomb. A really fun heart that's job extends through to every department of the WB Family. With focus on making sure our staff are heard and valued, as well as some of the more serious endeavors this team does it all while still having a good time. Filled with individuals who have a passion for people these guys & girls are truly multifaceted!
About You: You are one of those people who can do it all, you are wildly sociable and can hold a conversation with almost anyone. You can handle administrative tasks, analytics, and Microsoft Office programs like a boss. You have dabbled in event management and organization as well as some Social Media Channels in your day. You feel comfortable answering to supervisors but are also good at doing your own thing and taking on projects. You are looking for a well-rounded internships that lets you dip your toes in all that Human Resources has to offer, you don't mind that your office looks at a Ski Hill either... Internship Availability: Employee Experience offers one- 3 month Internship per year, starting in January. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in either Human Resources, Communications, or Tourism & Hospitality. Payroll & Benefits
About Payroll & Benefits: The Whistler Blackcomb Payroll & Benefits team is where stuff gets handled. These guys & girls are ninja's in their field, they get things done before you even need to ask. Home to a lot of incredibly smart people, this team get you hired, processed, and paid! Payroll & Benefits know the ins and outs of our Human Resources Systems and how the back end of Whistler Blackcomb functions. With way too many important responsibilities on their plate, we can't figure out how they are still always laughing.
About You: You may have also been referred to as a ninja in your day, you can pick up processes in no time. Not only do you have an interest in Payroll or Benefits, you have a passion for people. You feel comfortable communicating with other WB employees, no matter what their role. You have exceptional interpersonal skills, are very organized, and feel comfortable working with deadlines. You can rock Microsoft Excel, data entry, and analytics like a boss, and don't mind a puzzle or two.
Internship Availability: Payroll and Benefits offers one- 3 month Internships per year, starting in October. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in Human Resources, Benefits, Business, Finance, or Statistics. About Recruiting: The Whistler Blackcomb Recruiting team is home to some of our best and brightest, so that they can try to hire more people just like them. With the responsibility of hiring and onboarding just over two thousand people every year, being a people person is a must. This team gets to travel the world hand picking remarkable individuals to join the WB family. Talk about a sweet life... But with every ounce of play that comes along with this position is double the amount of hard work.
About You: You are a people person, you enjoy welcoming new people into your group. You exude patience and are easily excitable. You love the mountains and the culture that a mountain community holds, and cannot wait to share that community with new comers. You feel comfortable on the phone and walking people through things. Communication is one of your biggest strengths, whether it's through email or face-to-face. You love to be a part of a team but also like taking projects on solo. Creating job descriptions, social media posts, and updating our website intrigues you— There isn't a task you won't try at least once! Internship Availability: Recruiting offers one- 3 month Internship per year, running from September- December. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in either Human Resources, Business, Communications, or Tourism & Hospitality. The Leadership Program is developed for students or recent grads that have a desire for a career in the Ski Resort Industry. We look for top students to place into lead hand and supervisor positions, working closely with each of them to help develop their career path. If you have a love for the mountains and are looking for an in to work where you play, the Leadership Program could be right for you. This program is only offered to Students or Recent Grads of recognized Canadian Post- Secondary Institutions.
The Leadership Program is hands on program that provides the following opportunities to its participants:
- Orientation to the company and tour of WB facilities
- Two Ski and Ride sessions with WB staff and other program members.
- A Lunch & Learn with members if WB's Senior Leadership Team
- Introductions and Bio of each program member in the company newsletter
These opportunities are a great way to get familiarized with every aspect of Whistler Blackcomb's operations and network with WB staff.

About Guest Services: The Whistler Blackcomb Guest Services team has a heart for people. They're conflict-resolving ninjas and can bring order to chaos like a boss. They are enthusiastic, focused, and passionate. As a large portion of Whistler Blackcomb front line employees, this team is our guest's first taste of WB. Which is why it is filled with people that love the mountains and exceed customer service expectations. They want to make our guests voices heard and work towards improving our products.
About You: You are someone that was built for customer service, you care about people and love to listen. You have the ability to empathize with people and work to make sure guests are happy. You have a go-getter attitude and can take charge when something needs to be dealt with. You feel comfortable being in leadership and helping out your co-workers whenever possible. You are a whiz on the computer and can do a little investigating when systems get confusing. You have a passion for the mountains but don't mind being indoors while you work as long as you get to play outdoors on your days off!
Guest Services offers one- 6 month Leadership Position per year, starting in October. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in a related field. About Retail Rental: The Whistler Blackcomb Retail Rental team is full of people who love the goods. These guys & girls get excited about the latest and greatest quality products and are passionate about sharing their knowledge with our guests. This team is all about customer service and ensuring WB guests get what fits their needs best. They are quick on their feet and thrive working in a fast paced environment. They don't mind being indoors, if it means getting outdoors and utilizing those quality products on their days off!
About You: Your friends often refer to you as the ‘know it all'- don't worry, we dig it. You have a passion for the products the mountain industry brings, whether its new Rossignol skis or Oakley googles you know what's the best and aren't shy to lets guests know! You have a natural knack for leadership and taking on responsibility doesn't worry you. You feel comfortable being the person people come to when they have questions or concerns. You are a true "People Person" and have an aptitude for sales!
Program Availability: Retail Rental offers one- 6 month Leadership Position per year, starting in November. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in a related field. Applications for the Retail Rental Leadership Program will open on our website's Current Opportunities page in August.
About Operations: The Whistler Blackcomb Operations team is full of people that thrive in the outdoors. They love the mountains and work hard to make sure everything is running smoothly. You can find these guys & girls all over the mountain, whether it's loading you onto a chairlift, helping you out when you're hurt, or making that fluffy white stuff that we all love so much, and they always do it with a smile. This team is the epitome of a "work hard, play hard" life style!
About You: You have a natural aptitude for mechanics and for anything that doesn't come naturally to you, you are eager to learn. You think with a safety first mind set and complete all the work you do to your highest capability. You thrive in the outdoors and feel comfortable working in all-weather conditions. You like to work as part of a team and take direction well but when need be you are awesome at working independently and taking on projects. You are an intermediate skier or snowboarder and are stoked that this is a qualification of your job. You are physically fit and can handle manual tasks. You have a knowledge of the Whistler Blackcomb area and an understanding of groomed runs, grooming machines, implements, skidoos, trucks, and heavy machinery necessary for the positions. If you have snowmaking, skidoo, or snowcat experience this would be an asset. And last but not least, you have a positive attitude!
Program Availability: Operations offers one- 6 month Leadership Program per year, staring in October. Participant spends October- end of December in Snowmaking and January to May in Grooming (If you have met the Snowmaking expectations). Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in a related field. Applications for the Operations Internship will open on our website's Current Opportunities page in July. Participants must have a valid BC Driver's License and Drivers Abstract.
Food & Beverage
About Food & Beverage: The Whistler Blackcomb Food and Beverage team are as energetic and motivated as they come. The Front of the House team can strike up a conversation anytime- anywhere, smiling comes naturally to them, they thrive in a fast-paced environment. They are all about team work and work hard to ensure our restaurants are running as smooth as possible. They love living in the mountains and are passionate about the outdoors!
About You: You also thrive in a fast-paced environment, you are ambitious and approachable. You understand that every person on the team counts no matter what their roll. You are good at taking on responsibility and like helping out where you can to ensure your team is doing well. You have a way with people and can make almost anyone feel comfortable. You have a positive attitude and because of that smile A LOT. When things get hectic, you handle chaos like a boss.
Program Availability: Food & Beverage offers one- 6 month Leadership Position per year, starting in November. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in a related field.
