Whistler Pride and Ski Festival started out as a small weekend gathering of gay ski-enthusiasts in 1992 has become one of the largest queer-focused ski weeks in the world. The biggest festival of it’s kind in Canada, the festival welcomes guests from around the globe. Revellers enjoy an unparalleled mountain experience and world-class event programming hosted by a team of friendly ski & snowboard guides and festival staff. This is Canadian hospitality at it’s finest.

The festival team is working with partners and consulting local authorities to program a festival that keeps the spirit of Whistler Pride alive while prioritizing the health and safety of attendees. Whistler/Blackcomb is fully operational with COVID-19 safety protocols in place. The resort is eager host the festival and celebrate Pride with us!

Guided Ski & Snowboard Groups

January 23 – 29, 2022 | Whistler & Blackcomb Mountains

Free daily guided ski and snowboard groups are the best way to meet other festival attendees while exploring the awe-inspiring, award-winning slopes of Whistler Blackcomb. These volunteer-guided groups range from beginner to expert.

Whistler Pride Rainbow Ski-out and Parade

Friday, January 27, 2022 | Beginning at 3:00pm

Join the annual Pride Ski + March where skiers and riders start on Whistler's mid-station on the Olympic Run and swoosh down the slopes in a sea of colour. Rainbow flags are carried with pride and skiers and riders dress in colourful outfits as they descend to Whistler Village at Skiers' Plaza, energizing the crowd that has gathered at the base of the mountain the greet them. The giant Pride Flag is transferred from skiers to marchers as the crowd continues through the village in celebration of diversity and inclusivity.

Charity Ski Race

Thursday, January 27, 2022 | 1:00pm-2:30pm | Blackcomb Mountain

Test your speed and try guessing your speed in a friendly race that raises funds for charity. Show us your sweet skiing or boarding moves as you zoom down the Race Centre on Blackcomb Mountain. Located on Cougar Milk Run the timed Dual Giant Slalom course is open to skiers, snowboarders of all ages, intermediate slope Prizes for fastest, slowest, coming closest to your predicted time and more…. No race experience necessary.

Pride at Night

Whistler Pride and Ski Festival comes to life at night! With a long history of incredible events throughout the week that culminate in a big closing party every year. Things will be different in 2022 but the lineup of activities and entertainment will make the evenings as unforgettable as the skiing/riding.

IMPORTANT NOTE: SPA-Lash! at Scandinave Spa originally programmed for Thursday January 29th has been cancelled due to concerns over the spread of the omicron variant of Covid-19.

Through daily recommendations the APRÈS and EATS programs give festival-goers a taste of the best of the resort and surrounding area. Monday through Thursday the Festival highlights après and dinning destinations.

We recommend booking in advance to secure a spot. Many of the restaurants also offer delivery or take-out, offering many different ways for you to support them.
