GMC Pump Track Challenge

Wikipedia defines Pump track as:” a small track using as little as 10 x 30 feet of land, is a looping trail system of dirt berms and “rollers” for bicycling without the rider pedaling”. The GMC Pump Track Challenge will test rider’s ability to find their flow. Riders will be timed on 1 full loop of the track with the goal of earning the title of GMC Pump Track Champion.

* Awards for each age category will be awarded after each heat.  Age group winners will be determined based on the heats regardless of the outcome of the finals.

*** Times may vary depending on registration numbers.  Please be early for your Heat/Finals

Format

Single timed runs

  • Categories have been split into Heats.
  • Each competitor will be given 3 runs to post their best time.
  • Top 5 riders from Heat 1 and top 5 Women and 10 Men overall from Heat 2 will advance to the finals. Qualifying times do not carry over.
  • Each Finalist will be given 3 runs to post their best time. Best time wins
  • Category Rankings will be based on qualifying results
  • Awards for each age category will be awarded following each heat.  Results will be determined based on the heat times regardless of the finals.

  • Male Grom (11-13)
  • Junior Male (14-16)
  • Male Open (17+)
  • Master Male (30-39)
  • Veteran Male (40+)
  • Junior Female (11-16)
  • Female Open (17+) 

Rules

  • Bike Restriction:  26-inch wheels for everyone over 13 (Groms can have 24-inch wheels)
  • Hard tails and rear brakes mandatory
  • Helmets mandatory (full face optional).
  • Pedal kick is allowed to start the run.  No pedaling permitting once bike leaves the start. Additional pedal strokes during the race will result in disqualification.
  • All participants will be required to sign a release of liability waiver.  Minors must be accompanied by a guardian to fulfill the waiver.
  • Those that have a bike park pass have already completed the waiver
  • ALL BIKES WITHOUT 1 BRAKE PER WHEEL MUST DOWNLOAD THE GONDOLA AND MAY NOT RIDE THE PARK
