New Perspectives: GoPro fusion
Whistler Blackcomb teamed up with a local 360 camera guru to produce our first ever 100% GoPro Fusion edit shot in resort. Check it out!
Nintendo Switch
To showcase the portability of the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo, Whistler Blackcomb and Blackcomb Helicopters documented a day in the life of a local Whistler family. At home, in a helicopter with Mario, to the very top of Whistler Mountain – the Nintendo Switch really does move with you everywhere.
Coca-Cola Ice Bar
On March 9th -10th, Coca-Cola built a custom-made ice bar at the top of Whistler Mountain to kick-off the launch of Diet Coke’s brand new flavors. As the only sampling activation for this launch across Canada, Whistler Blackcomb guests had the opportunity to be one of the first to sample the brand new Diet Coke flavors -Ginger Lime, Feisty Cherry, Zesty Blood Orange and Twisted Mango.

King of the Spring presented by Clif Bar
On March 24th, Whistler Blackcomb hosted a one-off event, King of the Spring presented by Clif Bar. Shredders of all ages were invited to partake in a rail jam contest battling for the King and Queen title. In addition, $300 cash prize, generously provided by Clif Bar, was awarded to the overall Best Performer and to the contestant that threw down the Best Trick.

Oakley Week
From March 14th-18th Oakley athletes returned to Whistler Blackcomb to takeover Canada’s premier mountain resort and host Oakley Week – a week-long series of on and off-hill events rooted in performance. Oakley athletes Sébastien Toutant, Charles Reid, Jamie Anderson, Rusty Ockenden, Craig McMorris, and more attended the celebration that included events, giveaways, product demos, and opportunities to ride with these athletes. Additional events during Oakley week included Oakley Prizm Demo Centres, Golden Ticket giveaways, Touring Clinics and Avalanche Awareness Clinics along with a kickoff party.
Epic Pass 10 Year Anniversary
Whistler Blackcomb celebrated the Epic Pass 10th Anniversary with an all-day affair, including free BAILEYS and hot chocolate at the Roundhouse Lodge, Steller's Jay Brut sabering (using mini skis!) on the Umbrella Bar patio with five local Olympians- Ashleigh McIvor, Dom Vallee, Mercedes Nicoll and John Smart, finishing off with a Kokanee Après at the GLC featuring the world renowned après band, The Hairfarmers.

Fresh Tracks Like A Pro with the GMC All Mountain
Whistler Blackcomb teamed up with GMC to bring surprised riders up the mountain for a Fresh Tracks breakfast. As eager skiers and boarders waited for the gondola to start up for the day, the GMC All-Mountain vehicle surprised guests in the village. For three days, a lucky group was randomly selected for a ride up to the Roundhouse Lodge in style in this tricked out GMC Sierra with a thumping sound system, LED light package and gear rack. This was the first time the public was given a first-hand experience of its capabilities.

TELUS Charge Up!
This Spring Break, TELUS and Whistler Blackcomb took to the mountains to surprise and delight guests for a chance to win tech prizes, including a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone, Apple Watch and Google Home (to name a few). Olympic athlete, Mercedes Nicoll, hid toy TELUS critters throughout the mountain at TELUS charging stations. Surprised lucky winners were instructed to collect their tech prizes with a final showdown at the Roundhouse on Whistler.

BAILEYS Hot Chocolate
At the Crystal Hut, perched atop Blackcomb Mountain at 6000 ft. guests were treated to a luxurious sample of BAILEYS hot chocolate two weekends in March. From the deck of the rustic cabin, guest could take in a rich array of alpine colours and panoramic views of the surrounding Coast Mountain Range and the birds eye view of the Whistler Village below.

GMC Race Center
To wrap up the season, GMC hosted the final Race Center activation on March 24th and 25th by handing out custom branded goggle wipes, free hot chocolate, race photos and exclusive tips from a Whistler Blackcomb ski pro. The GMC All-Mountain truck was on site with music playing, creating a fun atmosphere before guests hit the course to race their friends in a head-to-head giant slalom format.
Nestle Turtle Slow Zone
Nestle and the Whistler Blackcomb Safety team joined forces to help spread the word to slow down and ride safely on the mountain in the Turtle’s Slow Zone, located on both Whistler and Blackcomb. The Turtle’s mascot made an appearance by handing out Turtle’s chocolate and spreading the safety message to adults and kids alike.

21st Annual Showcase Showdown
The 21st Annual Showcase Showdown took place on March 31st. The 3 feature jam contest took it back to pre-historic times with its Jurassic themed event. The contestant who nailed the Best Trick was awarded a Samsung Galaxy A5.

Winemakers Après – Inniskillin
The 3rd Winemakers Après of the season occurred on March 15th. Guests were treated to wines paired with locally-sourced culinary delights at 6,000ft at Steeps Grill & Wine Bar. During the multiple courses guests learn about the vineyard and the various tasting notes. The event showcased Inniskillin.
