Mid-November to Late December

Start your Canadian ski holiday before the peak festive period. Whistler Blackcomb often receives abundant early-season snowfall (an average of 2.4 metres in November), with smaller crowds and some of the best value of the winter. It is an ideal time for couples, groups and families able to travel before the Australian summer holidays begin.

Early Season Details:

Late December to Early January

Early to Late January

Experience Whistler Blackcomb in the heart of winter, when deep snowfall, expansive terrain and classic Canadian conditions come together. Late January is especially appealing for Australians, with Australia Day celebrations adding a familiar touch to an unforgettable mountain holiday.

Deep Winter Details:

Longer days, reliable snowfall and extensive terrain make February and March an excellent time for an extended ski holiday. It is a particularly strong option for Australian families travelling around Easter, combining a deep seasonal snowpack with more daylight to explore the mountains and village. 

In 2027, the Easter long weekend falls from 26–29 March, making late March a timely opportunity for Australian travellers to turn the public holidays into a longer Canadian ski break.

  • Average Snowfall: 158 centimetres in February and 248 centimetres in March  
  • Terrain Open: All terrain, conditions permitting

April to May

Make the most of spring with longer days, milder temperatures and a deep accumulated snowpack. Spring is ideal for Australians seeking strong value, relaxed mountain days and more time to enjoy Whistler Blackcomb’s patios, dining and village atmosphere. 

Spring Skiing Details:

  • Average Snowfall: 85 centimetres in April and 21 centimetres in May  
  • Terrain Open: Terrain becomes more limited later in the season and may operate on one mountain  
  • Featured Event: World Ski & Snowboard Festival 
  • Best For: Value, warmer weather and relaxed ski days
