Best pricing is available online, in advance. To book a group lesson within 24 hours or a private lesson within 48 hours, please visit one of our Ski & Snowboard sales locations or call ahead. Our cancellation policy is available here. Make sure all members of your group have a pass or lift ticket and rent gear if needed.

Arrive 30 minutes before the lesson to allow time for check-in. If you or your child are picking up rental gear, arrive 60 minutes early.

Check-in for the lesson at the location or base area you selected while booking. 

Instructor Gray
Meet Our World-Class Instructors

All group lessons will be sorted by ability level and child lessons will be sorted by age. The instructor will determine a plan for the day based on individual needs or group goals. 

Mountain Gray 


World-class instructors will help all participants have fun exploring more of the mountain by practicing new techniques at their own pace. All Full Day lessons will include a break for lunch, with food provided only for child lessons. Half Day and Bundled AM / PM lessons will not include lunch.

 Pick Up Gray


If you are dropping off a child, make sure to confirm location and pick-up time. The instructor will provide a summary of their lesson and your child's progress at pick-up. 


Gratuities: Instructor gratuity is at your discretion. Please note, a 15-20% gratuity based on the cost of the lesson will make your instructor feel very appreciated and valued. 

Health and Safety

The health and safety of our guests is our first priority. We have established comprehensive Health and Safety measures to keep our guests, employees, and the community safe. All employees are required to undergo a health screening before they arrive at work. For more information, please visit our Winter Experience page.

Before Your Lesson


  • Health and safety remain our top priority. At Whistler Blackcomb this winter, we are operating according to COVID-19 health orders from Vancouver Coastal Health, the Province of British Columbia and the Provincial Health Authority. We ask that all of our guests also comply with these orders which you can find HERE.
  • Ensure that they are well rested, have eaten breakfast, and have recovered from jet lag.
  • Bring them dressed and ready to ski or snowboard.
  • Don't worry about tears! Our instructors are kind, caring and trained to calm the fears of your child.
  • If you wish to check on your child, please phone, watch from afar, or ask about our Parent Pager program for the Daycare program.

Remember, weather conditions can change rapidly

Please ensure that your child is equipped with the following and that all belongings are labeled:

  • Neck gaiter
  • Goggles and/or sunglasses depending on the weather
  • Sunscreen and lip balm applied. We will reapply after lunch.
  • Waterproof & insulated mittens, gloves, jacket and pants (we have limited clothing rentals for children).
  • Long underwear and turtleneck
  • Warm dry socks
  • Label everything with your child's first and last name
  • A helmet. Helmets are available for rent and are included in our rental package but supply may be limited at peak times. Helmets are also available for purchase at our sport shops. Helmets are mandatory for all children ages 3-18 participating in our ski and snowboard programs.

If you are picking up tickets and rentals on your child's first morning, plan to arrive at 8:00 am. If your child has tickets and equipment, please arrive between 8:30am and 8.45am lessons start at 9.00am.

Your Child's Day

Your child will spend the day with their instructor and group sliding, exploring, laughing, learning and playing.
If your child has special dietary requirements please discuss them with our sales hosts when making your reservation and again when you arrive to drop off your child. Please be aware that we try to operate "nut free" facilities so we ask that you do not pack any nut products should you choose to pack your own lunch or snack.
If your child is newly toilet trained you may wish to pack an extra set of pants and/or a pull up in the case of an accident.
3-4 year olds have lunch and story time between 11:30 and 1:00pm.
5-7 year olds and 8-12 year olds eat lunch in different seating's from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm.
Actual time on snow will vary depending on weather conditions the groups ability and stamina. Some groups will take a quick 30 minute lunch with no breaks and others, usually those who are at the early stages of learning to slide on snow and those groups with younger children, will take more frequent breaks throughout the day to rest and recuperate.
Keep in mind that children learn at different rates and that the child's overall enjoyment of their time at Whistler Kids and on the mountain is most important.

End of Day

Pick up time is 3:00pm - 3:15pm from the base area.


What ski and ride school offerings will you provide this year at your resorts?
We are pleased to be resuming more ski and ride school programs this season, including those for younger children. Specifics can be found on our ski and ride school page.


Will face coverings be required in ski and ride school this season?
No. In accordance with the new BC Provincial Health Order, Face coverings will no longer be required in indoor settings, including in our gondolas, restaurants, lodging properties, restrooms, retail and rental locations, and public transportation.


What is the cancellation and refund policy for Ski & Ride School lessons?
Changes or cancellations can be made in advance of your lesson date by contacting the Ski & Ride School conducting your lesson. Any Ski & Ride School product that is cancelled prior to 24 hours of the lesson start time will be issued a full refund. Any Ski & Ride School product that is cancelled within 24 hours of the lesson start time will be charged a cancellation fee.


Will there be restrictions on Ski & Ride School lift access when lift tickets are unavailable?
No, the ability to purchase Ski & Ride School and include a lift ticket will not be limited during popular holiday periods.

Do I need a vaccine to ski and ride this season?
No. If you wish to access our resorts to ski and ride this season, a vaccination will not be required. Vaccines will also not be required in outdoor spaces such lift lines, chairlifts, gondolas, outdoor restaurants, or in indoor spaces such as restrooms, lodging properties, and retail and rental locations. However, if you wish to access our restaurants, restaurant patios or bars, a BC Vaccine Card will be required for those 12 and older.


Will I need a proof of vaccination for my wedding, conference or event?
In accordance with BC Provincial Health Orders, guests are no longer required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to dine and no longer required to wear a face mask indoors. Please see the BC Provincial Health Orders here.


Are you requiring your staff to be vaccinated?
Yes. We believe the COVID-19 vaccine is the way to end this pandemic, and the best way to keep our employees and guests safe. Vail Resorts will be requiring all employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19, effective Nov. 15, 2021.
