Intro to Park

Intro to Park is a beginner clinic tailored for anyone who hasn’t ridden in the Whistler Bike Park before. This program is for you if you’re a first-time mountain bike rider (you must be comfortable riding pavement), or you have some XC experience, but have never ridden in a Bike Park. If you are looking to get a taste of the park and develop basic downhill skills, our amazing guides will have you loving our easy cruising trails and learning areas.

To the best of our ability we will separate into groups with similar abilities and mind set when participation numbers allow.

Lesson:

AM Lessons: 10:30am - 1:30pm

Load the gondola and start the day – don’t worry we will show you how!

Some switching between groups may happen throughout the lesson in order to accommodate different rates of progression, stamina, and student goals.

We will start with skill development in our learning area. Our guides will teach the basics in our flat learning areas and give you time to get to know the bike and techniques. Once ready to descend groups will start with our easiest green trail Easy Does It and will progress to more technical trails when the whole group is comfortable and ready. Number of runs will depend on the speed and stamina of each group.

What clothing should I bring?

Please dress appropriately for the weather/temperature. Shorts and T-shirt are fine with a sweater or light pants/track pants/tights for cooler days. We recommend long shorts and no tank tops. Closed toes shoes are required, no sandals or flip flops. You may bring a back pack with water and snacks if you would like but we will stop for water breaks at the top and bottom of each run. We will be riding in all weather, so please be prepared with rain gear and sunscreen!
