LESSON DETAILS

BEGINNER CLASSES

Beginner classes may not descend down the Bike Park on the trails; readiness to descend will depend on the ability and stamina of the whole group. Beginner lessons not riding down the mountain will be spent in the learning areas at the top of Fitzsimmons Chair and possibly also on the trails in the valley.

Beginners need to be CONFIDENT on their bike, have good balance and be comfortable using hand brakes.

ADVANCED AND EXPERT RIDERS

Riders should, at a minimum, be comfortable at fast speeds on all black trails both cross country and in the Bike Park. Be able to pick a line through difficult technical sections, ride steep rock faces and raised skinnys. Have good technique and carry and judge speed to do medium jumps (12ft +/- table tops) and drops. These groups will be riding double black tech trails, such as Whistler Downhill and Joyride and black and double black flow trails such as Aline and Dirt Merchant.

*** For those looking to ride Pro Lines, please contact Reservations directly by calling 1-800-766-0449 or 604-967-8950 (LOCAL) or visit Guest Services to book.

IS LUNCH PROVIDED?

Yes. Lunch is provided. Lunch is eaten at the CLC (Children's Learning Centre) at mid station on Whistler Mountain, which provides an indoor seating area to keep out of the sun/rain. Lunch choices include a daily special or a variety of sandwiches/wraps plus salad, fruit and dessert. If your teen has allergies or dietary requirements please inform the instructor.

Hydration Pack is highly recommended for use on the trails. Water fountains are only available at the top and bottom of the lifts in Bike Park.

WHAT CLOTHING SHOULD I BRING?

Please dress appropriately for the weather/temperature. Shorts and T-shirt are fine with a sweater or track pants for colder days. Closed toes shoes are required, no sandals or flip flops. We will be riding in all weather, so please be prepared with rain gear (rain pants and waterproof jacket) and sunscreen!

If you are not renting a bike, your teen’s bike will be subject to a bike inspection when signing in. Bikes should have disc brakes and a minimum of front suspension. You may be asked to rent a bike if your teen’s bike is not suitable for the Bike Park.

If you are bringing your teen’s own bike they will need a Full Face helmet, biking gloves and arm and leg protection, these can be rented separated if needed.

All purchases are transacted in Canadian Dollars and are subject to applicable taxes. Prices and dates are subject to change without notice.
